Hey gang, welcome to a Monday edition of Kevin’s Draught Pick!  I’m waiting for the boneless chicken thighs to finish swimming in teriyaki sauce, then I’m going to fire up my Big Green Egg and grill them to perfection.  While they’re on the grill I’m going to make my world famous homemade fried rice.  Stoked!
And while all of this is happening I’ve got a tasty to sip - Slippery Slope Winter Ale.  I’ll admit that I’m pretty skeptical of craft beer companies that use twist offs.  Hell, even back when I was bottling my homebrew (I switched to kegging) I never used twist offs.  To me they just reek of low quality.  We shall see…
Let’s pour!
Clear copper/amber pour with no head and nearly non existent lacing.  The nose is grains, a touch of wood and a bit of spice.  Flavors are malts, hops, pepper, perhaps a hint of cherry.  Pretty mild all the way around. yet very unbalanced and all over the map.  It’s not terrible, but it’s a long way from good.  Entry level, perhaps.
